I didn't intend to re-iterate that. My point was that we need a `cmpgi' or
`cmpgei' instruction. The 8-bit immediate operand should be sign-extended
when the operation is signed, and zero-padded otherwise - and it will be
subject to an `implicit sdup' in SIMD modes, as usual.
