Nowdays, there are very different design for flipflop
Master slave or not. It's a ratio between speed, size
and power consumption.

There are some amazing designs out there for sure, and the difference in
performance has been limited ... but how highly advanced can you expect the
FF's to be at "run of the mill" foundries? What are they licensed to use?
Whats in their standard cell libraries?
