http://steelbridge.com/ It's a distributed-net model for web searching. Interesting, VC-backed ($2M), yet open-source. Code for "openCOLA" should start appearing after Labor Day. Perhaps something to keep eye on, for possible distributed techniques. Just something I ran across.
