Summary: Pinout of triac or of TO220 is wrong
Initial Comment:
steps:
- gscheme: draw a schematic
- add a strandard triac, and 3 terminators, and put them all together
- name the terminators according to the specification (search BTA06 in http://www.alldatasheet.com/view.jsp?Searchword=BTA06 ) : curved pin is G, the one next to G is A1, and one other side is A2
- save, close gcheme
- run gsch2pcb
- open PCB with the pcb file, load netlist
- reorganise a bit, ask to draw rats, and see that PCB shows the pin in the middle to be A1, when the spec says it should have been A2
So, pins 1 and 2 are inverted. I dont know yet is this is a bug of triac, TO220, or gsch2pcb. But I am a new user of any EDA. I will test with other things that I can find in TO220.
I did the test with TO220 and TO220W => same problem.
G is at the right place.
Many other components are upside down (eleko capas, diodes), and this may reveal a problem around in gsch2pcb ?
Using latest gEDA available in Gentoo:
gscheme 20070526
sci-electronics/geda-20070526
sci-electronics/pcb-20070208
I am also having problems with the generic transistor associated to TO92 pinout: pcb leaves it in the side, and no rat come to the box dispite what's been done under gscheme ... (I ended up with using a SIP3 footprint)
