Initial Comment:

When using the -e flag of gschlas to embed all the components, any attribute that was promoted is still visible when the symbol is embedded. 

This bug does not show up when the embedding occurs in gschem.  The code paths should be identical, but I'm guessing they are different in the promotion code between when gschem loads up a schematic and gschlas loads up the same schematic.
