Initial Comment:
Please add a way to do complex editing operations like:
  add an "a" to all refdes attributes of all selected 
components

or 

 set the footprint attribute to "0603" of every 
component whose refdes starts with RA and which is not 
selected

I like the way protel deals with this kind of complex 
operations: The change attribute dialog contains a 
button "apply to all" and a host of conditions that can 
be chosen.
