Summary: segment fault during autosave

Initial Comment:
I just installed and started to learn gEDA 200601123-0 on a PPC Mac Mini
and I'm finding that I'm getting random segmentation faults in gschem. I
stumbled across the crash reporter log and found that they are happening
during the autosave. I had one that happend as I was adding text to a
page in which I may have typed an "illegal" character by hitting the
command, ctrl or alt key.

I have attached the crash log that shows the many autosave crashes:

Thread 0 Crashed:
0 libgeda.25.dylib 0x00555c78 s_page_autosave + 16 (s_page.nw:
636)

and the text input crash:

Thread 0 Crashed:
0 libSystem.B.dylib 0x900030c0 strcmp + 192

I'm not an experienced programmer but if there is any way I can help
debug this or provide more information I would be happy to do so.
