gEDA-bug: install problem and segmentation fault
Full_Name: Peter Gregson
Version: 20040111-1
OS: SuSE 8.2
Submission from: (NULL) (24.222.168.199)
I previously had a version of gschem working successfully. I tried to install
tclspice and connect it to gschem and then gschem gave me seg faults on
startup.
I cleaned the old gschem off my system and then downloaded all of the gEDA/gaf
tarballs. I followed the isntructions in the top level Makefile explicitly,
including the exports of the various environment variables. I could not use
"make xinstall" because it exit-ed on error as follows:
Checking for tar ...
Checking for gcc ...
Checking for wget ...
Checking for libglib ...
Checking for libgtk ...
Checking for geda-setup ...
Using CVS version of geda-setup and setup.cfg ...
Starting geda-setup ...
./setup.sh: line 160: 27498 Segmentation fault ./geda-setup
make: *** [xinstall] Error 139
I then cleaned everything up and tried "make install". This appeared to build
everything successfully.
However, when I enter "gschem", I get:
gEDA/gschem version 20040111
gEDA/gschem comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; see COPYING for more details.

Segmentation fault
I have no idea how to find this problem. I would _really_ like to get gschem
running, however.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Peter
