I figured out what he meant: a standard 4x2 header would match up to
a common sort of (female) flat cable connector. We use these all the
time. You know what I mean. Those flat cables we software types are
always asking the technicians to crimp for us?-)
You can also get proper sockets for these connectors, allowing you
to make properly keyed connectors.
