No, but then I don't run gEDA on a Mac.

Can you check if /sw/share/gEDA/bitmap/*.xpm exist?

The code suggests that this log message may also be hit if the image
file can't be read. That would probably mean
gdk_pixmap_create_from_xpm() is failing to read it.

Perhaps your gdk-pixbuf / gtk / whatever.. is built without support for
XPM images?
