i d/l and installed  gerbv onto Slackware-8.1 
	http://gerbv.sourceforge.net 

i can see the sample gerber files in gerbv-0.13/Examples

gerbv segfaults on my gerber files ( real parts that's been made before )

	( i have no idea what applications the original layout folks
	( used to create the fab/assy drawings and gerb files
