I've had good luck with an old Kensington TuboMouse. Despite the name,
it's a trackball. <G> Anyhow, it is one of the large ball style
trackballs.

Anyhow, the ball itself is about the size and weight of a billiard
ball, and I find it to be highly precise.  The advantage, is that with
my multiple monitor setup, it allows me to "toss" the cursor accross
the vast expanse of screen space, just by flicking the ball, then
stopping it.

Anyhow, that's been my experience. :)
