gEDA-user: menus shrinking in pcb (OSX)

Hello,  I'm trying out gschem and pcb for a project I'm starting and
would first like to report great success using Charles Lepple's fink
packages to get everything compiled and installed.

Running pcb I'm getting a glitch with the menus.  At startup file and
edit menus seem to be sized incorrectly so that I can only see roughly
the first few letters of the top few items.  As I use the program for
a few minutes more menus get shrunk (settings for instance).

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be, or at least point me in
the right direction to look into it myself?
