I remember the request. If it's really important to you, you might
consider adding it yourself - the thermal code isn't that tricky, but
the polygon detection is. A similar problem exists where clearances
are tight and the thermal needs to be built with care to avoid DRC
errors.
For now, the solution is "don't do that" ;-)
