It's important to remember that gui and command line
interfaces each have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Gui's are great for tasks that you only perform ONCE but
if you are doing any task more than that then switching
over to command line/scripting makes a lot of sense.
Making that switch easy is important.

Having done a few very regular artworks with pcb almost exclusively
via text editor (vi, hi!) I think the idea of not having to drop in
and out of pcb to do so is a definite step forward.
