Hi, I'm considering doing some work to tease PCB's footprint/element and board file parsing and writing routines out into a shared library. I'd like to do this so that I can experiment with writing a different kind of GUI for creating PCB footprints. Obviously I'd like to avoid duplicating the parsing/writing code in my code. I've familiarised myself with the bits of code in PCB that do the file parsing and writing, and this looks like quite a feasible goal. Does anyone know if this has been discussed before? Searching the mailing list for "library" yields a significant number of irrelevant results! Cheers, Rob
