	gEDA/gaf supports both guile 1.4.x and guile 1.6.x.  I've been
using 1.6.x exclusively for a few months now.

	I can tell you now, it's going to create porting and compilation
problems.  However, from gEDA/gaf's perspective, it's worth it.  For now. 
From your perspective (new code), it might not be worth it.
