Don't know. I could see the problem that the plastic film melts and
sticks to the iron.

You are free to use the method you like. The magic words are clean and
no fingerprints.

Place paper on a table, place pcb on top, apply heat to paper sticks to
pcb then flip the package over and apply heat to the paper.

It would be wise to use something heat resistant.
