Sorry -- keyboard focus problem caused "Send" to issue when I hit ENTER.
Anyway, my point being, I don't think it would be wise to assume that
the scrollwheel has a defined set of actions, especially as evidenced
here. That is, consistent GUI operation should depend only on the
left and right mouse buttons -- even the middle button is questionable
as I know a few people who still don't use 3-button mice.
