gEDA-user: Disappearing PCB Footprint details

Ladies and Gentlemen - 
    Here is an interesting issue:
1) I Create a PCB footprint by hand, using data "borrowed" from another
footprint, and want to expand the silkscreen around it. I edit the
coordinates a wee bit.

2) I Open this footprint file in pcb BY ITSELF - (pcb footprint.fp) - it
appears as I want it.

3) The footprint is placed in a directory that the gsch2pcb script
"sees" as an element directory.

4) After the gsch2pcb script is run, the pcb data is loaded and
dispersed.

5) Here is the error: the footprint PADS from the shape I created show
up, but the silkscreen outline does NOT!. 

Does anyone have any idea what I am goofing up?  I attach one of the
offending footprints as follows:
