Right-click->properties->Run (or execute, I'm reading this in spanish).

Well... there are several reasons... one was that generally speaking 
there is no sane way to implement a "save settings" using Xresources, so 
GUI configuration of the programs get really complex.

One other alternative I forgot: on the kdenonbeta tree there is a proggie 
called konsole (another terminal emulator), which, I think, lets you do 
this using a dialog.
