I'm fwd'ing this because you're not subscribed to the list from

As for your proposal....no, this won't work. I'd still be exporting
them from a US machine.
What you could do is mount belegost's directory, and then serve Indy
from your ftp server there, if you can handle the bandwidth...then you
could include your ssh there, and you'd be set.
This is why most distributions solve this by having the crypto on a
separate site, and including both of them on a CD (which is then
export-restricted).
Whee.

I've just had an idea about how we could do it. According to df, cran
seems to have one of belegost's directories mounted. if my account on
lugs.org.uk appears (as it was ment to before christmas), would I be able
to export a directory containing ssh which could then be mounted within
the ftp structure?
ssh would then virtually be on the ftp server, while physically remaining
outside the US.
Sanity check anyone?
