[Libevent-users] [ANN] libevent 2.1.8-stable is released.

Hello, all!

6 years, 50% of overall commits and Libevent 2.1.8-stable is out, 2.1
is finally stable!

You can get it from github:
 https://github.com/libevent/libevent/releases/download/release-2.1.8-stable/libevent-2.1.8-stable.tar.gz

And if you have some problems/bugs, please create an issue here:
  https://github.com/libevent/libevent/issues
(this is the official repository).

There have only a few changes since 2.1.7-rc:
- openssl fixes for resetting fd and using bufferevent_openssl_filter_new()
- vagrant fixes
- some build fixes
- date in RFC1123 format and running tests in parallel.
See ChangeLog and git log for full details.

Since 2.0 there have been a great many changes. The ChangeLog[1] has an
exhaustive list, and the whatsnew-2.1.txt[2] document has a more
human-readable list.

Many thanks to all contributors (including bug reports / questions /
e.t.c) who helped with making this release! (README[1] for a complete
list of contributors)

P.S. since 2.0.10-stable we had 123 contributors, while between
1.4.3-stable and 2.0.10-stable only 31.

And after year or so 2.0.x support will be stopped. So it is a good
motive to start using 2.1.

This release was tested on 7 OS'es (see Vagrantfile[1] for full list
and set of scripts).

Many thanks,
Azat.
