I've already checked that EOF and TIMEOUT are not set. Your hypothesis
about an invalid ptr is likely correct -- however, the ptr is
invalidated in the event callback when I receive an error. What I'm
trying to figure out is why the error is happening in the first place.
These spurious errors only manifest them when I use bufferevents with
SSL.
