Linux Tuning: Objective (fwd)

Below is a recent email from a thread on the linux-kernel list. Basically
in light of the Mindcraft fiasco, a number of people on the list would
like to create "how to tune Linux". Right now they're not sure of the
format- a howto, FAQ, a list of patches, etc.
This email however explores the possibility of a searchable, hierchical
database of sorts. Of course that describes our site to a T. The
advantages of this are pretty obvious. Right next to: "how to tune the
kernel for serving web pages" would be "how to tune apache" and a list of
kernel patches. One stop shopping for all your tuning needs. Yum.
I think it would be a perfect marriage for the LKBO and the linux-kernel
list to make this a colabrative effort. It would give us instant name
recognition and an eager userbase and would give the kernel list the power
of our site.
What I don't know how to do is move forward without compromising one of
our goals- keeping the site on wraps until we go live. From the looks of
it, they won't be ready to move forward until our site goes live, but
we'll need to talk to them sooner than that to work out a deal to host the
data.

Something along the lines of RDBMS might be appropriate for
organization. A searchable knowledge base or something similar would
be nifty, as well as a hierchical organization. Hmm, hierchical may
even be better than relational in this case.
