I agree with you here Micah. With the advent of a better back-end, I'm
really leaning towards PGSQL. It's features are worth they're weight in
gold. With a better back-end, raw DB perfromance would not be such a
critical issue as it is now. Right now, every page load is dependant upon
raw DB perf... that shouldn't be the case some day.

I don't want it "now". The site needs to be useful before we go down this
road. That is the intention of Beta. If we feel the site's usefulness is
acceptable by Beta, and we feel front end work can continue to evolve
WHILE we impliment a better back-end together, then I think it's
acceptable. I have no desire to halt progress for this. All my thinking
and research has been along the lines of "only if it does not impede our
site as a utility for the masses".

I've read about it breifly... looks promising, but I don't really know
enough about it to comment much.
