Problem 1:  
You cannot Xref across DB's.  No can do, no way around.

Question 1: 
Do we want people to be able to give credit to non-linux
companies?  If so, that would change things a little since the LBF will
only containe Linux companies.  Just a question/thought - I don't really
care if we exclude non-linux companies from the credit - but I can also
see the benefits... so I'm 6 to one, half dozen the other.

If you answer that Q, I'll tell you what I think would be the best
solution to accomplish what your asking.
