I was thinking about some of the performance issues while working on
ht://dig.  One of the things we had talked about, but never did, was
create a seperate apache server without PHP and mod_perl for serving
images and other "statics".

Probably the easiest thing is to setup another Apache tree /home/http2 and
have it run on port 8080 (Apache's default).  URL's for images and other
non-PHP non-mod_perl would look like:

http://staticwww.linuxkb.org:8080/...
http://staticdev.linuxkb.org:8080/...

or something like that.  Kinda ugly though. :-(

Also, what about CVS?  How easy is this to integrate into the existing
CVS modules?  

There's probably a way in Apache to do this, without all this separation
using VirtualHosts.  I'm going to do some research (ask around) to see if
it's possible/good idea.
