I agree, this is a really spiffy idea.

The only problem (well, issue) I see is that if this starts getting used at
a large scale, then the vast majority of mails we get won't get "carried the
last mile" -- they'll show up, and head directly into the general delivery
table, and somebody will have to deal.

But assuming you get even a couple people who like taking things out of the
general delivery table and finishing them (or are willing to do it yourself),
then it will be very worthwhile. 

Excellent idea.

(Another alternative is just monitoring a lot of mailing lists directly. But
this approach keeps people thinking about the linuxkb, and gets a lot of
other people noticing it who otherwise wouldn't.)
