I was thinking more of using it to provide an interface for people to
search deja news.  Many users (especially newbies) are ignorant of the
information availble.

Maybe in the results page of a htdig search, we have a button which allow
a user to run the same search on certain newsgroups indexed by deja news.

For the record, I would NOT want us to try to index all or part of the
existing deja news content.  But there is a lot of good info there, if
you're willing to wade through the garbage.
