System status

For those of you just joining us, I'm in the process of configuring our
second server.  The first server (Vodka) is a PII 450 w/ 256MB RAM running
two 9GB disks in a RAID1 configuration (software RAID via kernel 2.0.36).
It was donated to us by VA Research.

The 2nd server (Yukon) is also a VA box (donated by Jason's company). Dual
Xeon500 (512K cache), 1GB RAM, 4 18GB disks with a Mylex DAC960 UW doing
RAID5.  Right now this server is just about ready to be installed at
NaviSite (the co-location company donating the bandwidth).  A few more
tweaks and we can start installing software on it.  I'm not sure if
NaviSite will be ready in time before I leave for New Hampshire; if not,
I'll take the system home and put it on my 416K DSL connection.  (I'd
leave it here at work on our T1, but the system is too damned loud here in
my office.)

Anyways, Jason has suggested that we use vodka for DB stuff and yukon for
web.  Sounds reasonable to me I suppose.

Anyways, everyone already has a login on Yukon and you should be able to
ssh to it.  Daniel, the cvs users have been created, but none of the
directories, so you'll need to do that.  Jason, same for qmail.  I'll
leave the box turned on over the weekend so people who need to do work
can.
