IRC- what happened?

I know I was late (traffic getting home from work), but I wasn't that
late???

Anyways, I might as well email this out.

1)  Had my lawyer friend look at the license I cooked up from the Netscape
Open Directory.  He says it looks pretty good.  He suggested we may want
to move 2(d) and 2(e) into 5 and 6, but it wasn't necessary.  He also
pointed out that keeping it the way it is, makes it easier to see what
changes we made to the NODL.  The only issue is that the NODL is that it's
copywrited by Netscape, so I contacted Netscape's legal dept.  Talked to a
nice guy named Matt who said it shouldn't be a problem, so I emailed him
an 'offical request'.

2)  I think we should strongly consider making an annoucement to the world
about our project in order to get more help.  I've already talked to VA
and they're cool with it.   I would suggest we write some info about the
project and what skills we're looking for and email:
- freshmeat.net
- Linux Weekly News
- Linux Today
- Slashdot
- C.O.L.A.

The main reason for this is that this project is taking a *long* time.
I've been working on it since Oct/Nov last year.  Would be nice to go live
before the turn of the century. :-)  Yes, we're making progress, but it
could be going a lot faster.  The usertools section devel is dead again
while Micah is out of town.  I haven't seen any updates to the other forms
in CVS in a long either.  I'm not saying people aren't working hard, but
that there is too much work to go around.

Also you may notice that Cheek is looking for developers as well.  I think
if we explain what we're doing and how we're doing it, we won't have much
of a problem convincing people to join us.

Also, my lawyer friend is one of the founders of a new Linux company and
he has a lot of contacts with the Gnome group.  He's offered to pass along
any announcements to them and ask them to pass it along as well.

Anyways, I'm willing to write the web page, announcement, and take the job
of sorting through the would-be-developers.  I'm at a good stopping point
in the search engine anyways.  If we can agree on this soon, I should be
all ready by Monday.
