I think it is.  Many people (newbies) don't know about man pages, or the
included docs.  Besides, why force people to search man pages, /usr/doc,
etc on their own when we can do it for them just as easily?

/usr/doc and man pages are too easy to do to ignore IMHO.

Problem is that you have 10+1 pages of content (10 sub sections + 1 index
page).  So how to do you get 10+1 pages of content to return only the
index page?  The only way to do what you propose is not index the sub
sections, only the index page, which leaves out a lot of words to match
against.

If you have an idea how to impliment it though, I'd be interested to hear-
I like your idea the best.
