I agree have to agree that it was less than fair. The point is people
should know what "kb" means. People just don't assocaite kb with
knowledge base.

linuxsupport.com was taken as was linuxkb.org. Hence using net for both
made sense. Also .net just sounds cool. :-)

My vision is more broad than either of those:
Where people go first when they are looking for answers for Linux related
questions.
FAQ's will be a big part of this. So will be intelligently indexing much
of the existing Linux content- something that the major search engines
have failed to do sucessfully. I'd like to have unique content (FAQ
entries) generated from (forward via email) newsgroups and maillists. As
well as a message board, ala Ask Slashdot.
Basically:
1) Mirroring/linking existing quality content on the web (LDP, Red Hat
Errata Pages, IP Masqurade homepage, etc)
2) Unique content generated by visitors to the site (people fill out a
form or via message boards)
3) Unique content from newsgroups and mail lists.
4) #1-3 powered by a powerful fuzzy logic search engine
5) Linux BF
I don't intend on having a bunch of people authorized by our site to take
questions and answer them. I expect we will allow people to ask
questions, which we will then post and allow other visitors to answer.
The content maintainers will then pick good answers for inclusion to the
FAQ area/search engine of the site.

Like I said earlier, we are a support site- a place people come looking
for answers about Linux. linuxsupport to me says exactly that. Do you
have perhaps a better suggestion- one that isn't misleading to you?
