Comment:

 I have the same issue in 0.3.3-alpha.

 When I connect to Tor from an open vidalia with an open "Network Map" tab,
 it consumes as much CPU as possible (one core) for minutes on a Core 2 Duo
 @ 2.5GHz.

 If I close the network map before connecting the issue disappears.
