#2389: Tor ExitNodes not recognized on Mac OSX 10.6.5 installation and Video
crashing Firefox

I installed 0.2.1.28/0.2.2.20-alpha on Mac OSX 10.6.5 and set-up Country-
specific Exit Nodes in torrc. Vidalia is starting up and opening Firefox
(Namoroka v3.6.13) - sometimes needing a second attempt, which I believe
has already been identified - but no matter what I do, it is not
recognizing the country-specific exit nodes. Even adding Exclude Nodes to
torrc for all but the right country does not force the right exit nodes -
each time I restart, the exit node is another with a random country.
I wonder if Vidalia.conf is overriding torrc somehow? I tried to find a
syntax to force Vidalia.conf to accept torrc exit nodes, without success.
Someone with Mac 10.5 on your discussion forum took a look at my torrc
file and found it correct, so that doesn't seem to be at fault, but I
attach it anyway. [<rransom> That means that the torrc you pasted *is*
being ignored.]. I don't think the torrc file itself is being ignored
because Tor does not run if I remove it, but the exit nodes instruction
is.
Namoroka is also crashing when opening even small videos (e.g. on
YouTube), even though all necessary plugins are present and I have
unchecked "Disable plugins during Tor usage (crucial)" in Torbutton
preferences. Please note that anonymity is not an issue in this regard.
I have mentioned the crashing here because I don't know if these two
issues are related, but please advise if I need to open another ticket for
this second issue, or whether it can be dealt with from this one. Thanks
in advance in anticipation of a solution!
