Comment:

 This is the same problem we have with Google, Wikipedia, etc.  Whether
 spam bots or not, sites seem to rely upon IP address as a means of
 authentication.  I'll bet blocking tor nodes has done very little to
 nothing to stop their spam problem, and has only removed access for the
 users that actually need Tor to safely access livejournal.  If you have a
 contact there, we're happy to talk to them.
