 Roger suggests that ""Diagnostic for issue #8387:" is a better phrase than
 "Problem:".

 Looking at the code, a backport to 0.2.4 appears nontrivial due to data
 structure issues.  And if this is really an endemic problem, adding the
 diagnostic code to 0.2.5 only should be okay.
