 plot_networksize() has been refactored to use modern R packages & methods,
 resulting in readable, maintainable code.  Details here:
 http://rpubs.com/johnbwilliams/refactor.  Minor adjustments are needed to
 drop in place. Package dependencecy considerations apply.
