I'm wondering if this effort is worth pursuing. Linux is the only system
that seems to have the capabilities support that we'd need here, and on
Linux, the trend seems to be that when keeping root capabilities in a
daemon, you just use systemd.
Are there ''relevant'' non-Linux systems that support capabilities like
this? Among the non-systemd linux platforms, are there enough users who
would want a feature like this to make it a good idea?
