Comment (by cypherpunks):

 Setting TOR_SOCKS_IPC_PATH to the host running Tor and TOR_SOCKS_PORT to
 the proper port does set the proper proxy variables.

 However, stream isolation doesn't work, no socks username / password is
 used.
