 I have been working on this and hopefully will have a patch within the
 week. One thing that has taken some time is deciding which logging
 function to use- on the C side, we have several macros which wrap log_fn_.
 We can implement similar functionality in Rust, or we can create helper
 functions in C- if anyone has arguments for/against either of these, let
 me know.
