Comment(by Sebastian):

 We could also put the contents of the tbb versions file into a comment of
 the check website. That would mean even if the version check page gets
 blocked by fingerprinting it for example, that torbutton can still use
 that information to maybe reload the check page with the update warning or
 do otherwise
