Thanks! On second thought, I agree the cloud probably works better in
white. The other stuff will most certainly be fixed before it goes live.
This is just a mock-up to get a feel of how we want it to look, before
actually spending time developing the website. =)

 Runa:
 >I kinda liked the previous design better; the one with the background and
the blue links. We don't have to use the background from the previous
mock-up, but something that isn't plain black or white might look better.

I'm open to suggestions for the background. My next attempt will probably
be a gray or a darkish desaturated purple. Maybe I'll try some sort of
subtle texture or something. Blue links work for me, as long as the area
 behind the text stays white.

 Phobos:
I don't think the square borders will necessarily look as 'square' as they
appear in this mock-up. They would span the width of the page from edge to
edge of the browser window, widescreen & normal aspect monitors alike. I
suppose I can come up with an alternate method of displaying the nav links
 if it becomes an issue.

The bottom footer bars appearance is a result of less copy in the body of
the page, and realistically, this is how it will inevitably look to some
visitors whose window height is taller than the content on the page (for
example, when no scrollbar is visible).

I could simply crop the mock-up image to be shorter, but this doesn't
change the fact that lower content pages may appear this way to some
visitors with higher monitor resolutions. In the event that there is
enough content to fill the browser window, it would appear the same as in
the first mock-up, when the page is scrolled to the bottom.
