Thanks, after creating the directories for log and pid it does the trick.

/usr/local/var/log/tor/ and /usr/local/var/run/tor if anyone needs the paths.
It would be nice if tor would shed privileges on start, but it's still in
development.

It would be nice if this script would be mentioned in the INSTALL file.
