I think the solution to change the consensus format - section 3.3 is
by far superior vs changing the ports on directory authorities or
disabling old link protocols at relays side.
Changing the consensus format is the cleanest way to do it and it has
smallest chances to degrade performance on working up to date clients.
Might as well make add the synonym as fast as possible, when we also
add the shared randomness value in the consensus document, because
it'll take quite some time until we are ready to say 'let's disable
all Tor versions before today'.
