We saw this same issue at 1AEO — AROI updates were very slow to verify (sometimes up to a month), and finding the exact problem took even longer. There was no simple, transparent way to see why a relay was not verifying. Running a Tor relay can be complex, especially for new operators, so we wanted to make this easier. To help, we built, open-sourced, and are now hosting a tool that checks AROI verification every hour: https://aroivalidator.1aeo.com The tool tests both TXT and URI methods, compares them with each relay’s descriptor, and shows when values are missing or mismatched.
