$ sudo iptables -A OUTPUT -i lo -j ACCEPT
iptables v1.4.21: Can't use -i with OUTPUT

Try `iptables -h' or 'iptables --help' for more information.



Maybe you meant -o lo, but when people tell you it's not valid, they probably
do have a reason for telling you that.
