Here's what I use:

when sshing through tor to public IP:

ProxyCommand socat -
SOCKS4A:localhost:(ip_address_here):22,socksport=9050

when sshing to hidden service:

ProxyCommand socat -
SOCKS4A:localhost:hiddenservicehere.onion:22,socksport=9050

It helps to setup an ssh config file and use those commands inside a
Host container.
