Vidalia v0.0.7 in Tor 0.1.1.22 bundle

Today I updated my Win2k server with this tor bundle and for the first time allowed vidalia to install.

Having diabled torCP I rebooted my machine and to my suprise Vidalia reported that the Tor service (I run tor as a Win service as it appears to b more stable there) was not running.

But of course Tor was running. I've stopped Vidalia and re-instated TorCP.

Is this a general problem with Vidalia?

have any other users seen this ?

?( or is this a design feature?)?
